In January of 2017, the NFFE Forest Service Council, representing Forest Service employees throughout the country, filed a grievance against the US Forest Service on behalf of all bargaining unit employees. The Grievance alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Title V (FEPA), among other violations.
The Union has retained Snider and Associates, LLC, as the Union’s counsel for this matter. The firm is working hard for the bargaining unit employees to ensure that their rights under federal law are upheld. As part of the process, Snider & Associates’ attorney have been contacting Forest Service employees about their job duties and to discuss if, and how much, unpaid overtime they have worked
The Agency has disputed that the Union’s Grievance is viable and Arbitrator Keith Greenberg was selected to resolve the dispute. The Parties have submitted their arguments to the Arbitrator, and a decision is pending.
If you are or were in the NFFE FSC bargaining unit and you believe that you have information to share about overtime for which you did not receive proper compensation, please contact us.
All bargaining unit employees, whether or not they are members of the union, and regardless of position or pay grade, are covered by this grievance and could potentially benefit from a successful result.
